Who We Are
MBR Group LLC ("KAIND," "we," "us," "our") operates the KAIND® frequency wellness application, available at kaind.app and through the Apple App Store. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information about you when you use our Service.
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, MBR Group LLC is the data controller of your personal information.
What We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve the Service. Here is a complete picture of what we collect and why:

Onboarding & wellness profile

Payment data
We do not store or process your payment card details. Payments are handled by Apple (iOS) or Stripe (web). We receive only confirmation of payment status, subscription plan, and transaction ID.

How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect only for the following purposes:
- To deliver the Service — authenticating you, gating Premium features, syncing your session history across devices
- To personalize your experience — recommending frequency programs based on your profile, mood ratings, and session history
- To process payments — verifying subscription status and managing billing through Apple or Stripe
- To send transactional communications — account confirmation, billing receipts, and important service updates. We do not send promotional emails unless you opt in.
- To improve the Service — analyzing aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to understand which features are most valuable
- To ensure security — detecting fraud, unauthorized access, and misuse
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, sell to data brokers, or target you with personalized ads. Ever.
Device Storage (localStorage)
KAIND stores several pieces of data locally on your device using browser localStorage and device storage. This data lives on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you are signed in:
- Your frequency program preferences and custom tuning settings
- Session history and streak data
- XP and badge progress
- Your MindSync affirmation texts
- Voice analysis recommendation (stored for 24 hours, then cleared)
- Post-session mood history (used for local adaptive recommendations)
- Subscription status token (used to unlock Premium features)
Microphone Access
KAIND requests microphone access for two features:
Voice Mirror & Chladni visualization (Premium)
The Voice Mirror analyzes your microphone input in real-time to generate the Chladni pattern visualization. Audio is processed entirely on your device — it is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to our servers.
Voice Frequency Analysis (Premium)
This feature samples a brief period of your voice to analyze dominant frequency, energy level, and spectral balance, then recommends a frequency program. Analysis is performed locally on your device. The result (recommended program name only) is saved to your device for 24 hours and then cleared. No audio recording is stored anywhere.
MindSync voice recording (Premium)
MindSync allows you to record your voice to layer with binaural frequencies. Your recording is processed locally on your device. If you use our optional AI voice enhancement feature, audio may be sent to ElevenLabs, Inc. for processing — see our third-party services section below.
Third-Party Services
KAIND works with a small number of trusted third-party services to deliver and operate the app. Each has been selected for their privacy standards and data minimization practices.
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties except as required by law.
Advertising & Tracking
KAIND uses only:
- Essential cookies for session management (authentication)
- Browser localStorage for app preferences and offline functionality
No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels. No fingerprinting.
Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the Service:

When you delete your account, all personally identifiable data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial transaction records).
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. We honor these rights for all users globally, regardless of jurisdiction.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@kaind.app with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
California residents (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. You have the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information (though we do not sell it). To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at hello@kaind.app.
European residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing your personal data are:
- Contract performance — processing necessary to deliver the Service you subscribed to
- Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, product improvement
- Consent — for optional data such as age range, gender, and voice processing
- Legal obligation — retaining financial records as required by law
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your data appropriately.
Children's Privacy
KAIND is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account with us, please email hello@kaind.app immediately.
Users between the ages of 13 and 18 should use KAIND only with parental or guardian consent.
International Data Transfers
MBR Group LLC is based in the United States. If you access KAIND from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our third-party service providers operate.
For users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission for transfers to countries without an adequacy decision. Our primary infrastructure provider (Supabase on AWS) participates in appropriate transfer mechanisms.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Sending an email to the address associated with your account
- Displaying a prominent notice within the KAIND app
We will provide at least 14 days notice before material changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
